Uses original arms, blades, trim, knob and bezel. Because the Raingear systems fits entirely under the dash, you can remove the old firewall mounted motor entirely.

The kit comes complete less assembly lube, arms and blades, escutcheons and model specific knobs for the switch. Heavy duty brackets, links and wiper towers. The 4 outlet defroster duct included in their '55 kit will not clear the Raingear unit. Uses stock mounting points.

Gm's cable and spool experiment lasted just long enough for their Designers to realize that it didn't work. The mid 50's Chevy's are great cars, aren't they except for the darned wiper system.

Or you can leave the old wiper motor in for authenticity.

No drilling. The left rod is removed and not reused during installation. 2 cross mount master cylinders will not fit with our Raingear system installed. It is specifically Designed to completely replace the original factory wiper system.

This will free up engine compartment room for that big block motor or give more clearance for an hie distributor. Escutcheons are the exterior trim bezels which cover the pivot posts in the cowl. This is due to the fact that gm switches control the wiper motor via the ground wire and these systems must be controlled by switching the positive wire. The 1955 and 1956 cars have two 3/8 diameter rods suspended from firewall fittings which support the steering column where the column attaches to the dashboard.

Chevy owners have had to put up with the stretched and broken cables for forty years but no longer. All those stock pieces will fit on this system. Includes comprehensive, illustrated installation instructions.
